When assessing software it should be intuitive and ergonomic, allowing maximum productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort. Avoiding software that frustrates the end users with poorly designed user interface that causes the user to be lost in the solution or to become disoriented by too many fields, open windows or complex menu options can reduce end user productivity, increase turnover and re-training requirements. Many of these factors also contribute to increased overhead and cost of maintenance.

3. Functionality is also a major factor in deciding if a software solution is well suited for your business. Automated processes are important in driving increased productivity. Software that leaves too many tasks up to the end-user to accomplish reduced end user confidence, increases opportunities for the creation of backlogs due to overlooked tasks and procedures.
