When is the right time for business management software?

We were recently asked when is the right time for a start-up to get a business management software solution?  The answer is pretty simple, as it is always advantageous to have a complete business management software.  What a new business owner has to decide is if they are financially able to pay for the software.  Most reputable software companies require a one year subscription which will auto renew each year unless the agreement is terminated in writing within the allotted time frame.  If you can’t meet the financial commitment don’t sign a contract.  You’ll need to find less expensive billing software which will lack many needed features, but will allow you to send claims to a clearinghouse for payment.  A good measure of what you can afford is to not pay more than 2.5% of your monthly revenue on software.
